William (Bill or Billy) Fox peacefully passed away September 26, 2019. He was born in Philadelphia, PA.
Bill really enjoyed being physically active and excelled at many sports. He participated in basketball, cross country track, and he became a member of the Crew Team. As a champion rower he was awarded a scholarship to Temple University in 1971. Bill enjoyed swimming and being at the beach. He worked summers at the beach becoming a lifeguard on the Jersey Shore. Bills heart was always at the beach and in 1977 he moved to Hollywood Beach, Florida where he worked for the City of Hollywood Beach Patrol and Ocean Rescue as a Marine Safety Officer and as a Paramedic. In his time there he formed enduring friendships.
Bill is survived by his wife Marie(Rocky) Ferrini his brothers John and his wife Rosemary, Don and his wife Michele, Wayne and his wife Karen, and Joe, Mother-in-law Camille Whitney and sister-in-law Terri Ferrini as well as 13 nieces and nephews and 27 great nieces and nephews, close friends and cousins.
A Celebration of Bill’s Life and Memorial service will be held on Sunday October 20, 2019 at 3:00 PM on Cape Canaveral Beach, FL at the Monroe Avenue access. Friends who would like to join in a Paddle out are welcome to.
At a later date (to be announced) there will be a Memorial and Paddle Out on Hollywood Beach, Fl at Bill’s old lifeguard tower, South 5, near the library. All those who would like to join are welcome.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully request that all donations go to Fallin Pines Critter Rescue Inc. where Bills beloved Sulcata tortoises, Cocoa and Sheila, now live.
