Anna Holcombe, 69, of Rockledge, Florida, formerly of Hurricane, West Virginia, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, July 30, 2020. She is survived by her daughter Joan McGuire (Doug) of Rockledge and their children Brandon (Belinda), Corey, and Brennan, her son Phillip Holcombe (Kim) of Patterson, Georgia and their children Daniel (Jessie), Carley, Whitney, Crystal, and Jessie, her daughter Karen Johnson (James) of Melbourne, Florida and their children Eric and Christina, her brother Paul Patton of Poca, West Virginia, her sister Jan Bays of Nanjemoy, Maryland, her sister Joyce Richter of Arizona, seven great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Anna was preceded in death by her husband Richard Holcombe, her parents, Edgar and Verlie Patton, her daughter in-law Cathy Holcombe, her sister Susan Patton McGuire, her grandchildren Michael, Colin, Sara & Darren and greatgrandchild Kimberly.
Anna Holcombe graduated from Oxon Hill High School in Oxon Hill, Maryland in 1969 before moving to Hurricane, West Virginia. She worked for the West Virginia Library Commission and West Virginia Rehabilitation Center before staying home and spending her years as a homemaker, wife, mother, and grandmother.
She enjoyed birdwatching, gardening, crocheting, playing slot machines, taking long drives, and most of all spending time with her children and grandchildren.
A grave side service will be held at the Easter Cemetery at 399 Lake Hollow Road, Hurricane, WV on Friday, August 7th, at 1:00 p.m. For safety reasons the service will be limited to family and close childhood friends. Please wear a mask and practice social distancing. Chairs will be provided for those unable to stand.
