Obituary

Jeanne Claire (Dupree) LeBlanc, 88 of Rockledge FL went to the Lord on Thursday, January 6, 2022 from Wuestoff Brevard Hospice & Palliative Care. She leaves behind her devoted husband of 66 years, Theodore “Ted” LeBlanc.

Jeanne Claire was born August 25, 1933, to Philias and Exianna Dupree. She was the youngest of 6 daughters and 1 son. She grew up in Mt. Vernon, NY, where she attended all girls Catholic, St. Gabriel’s High School. After graduation, she worked 4 Years in Manhattan for the J. Walter Thomson Agency. If you asked Jeanne Claire, she would tell you that she lived the real life of “Mad Men”, well before the TV show.

After marrying Ted in 1955, the two newlyweds began a lifelong adventure of moving and raising a family. First to Indiana, where she had three children: Cindy 1957, Michael 1959 and Teddy 1962. Next, a short pitstop to Wisconsin where Russell 1964 was born. After completing their family, they moved to Western, Mass. (Agawam), where they lived what all four children consider the ideal life-walking to school, playing with neighborhood friends, Summers swimming at the YMCA, and playing Little League, coached by their Dad. There were no cell phones, but the children would return home with Mom’s ringing of the cow bell, which meant “dinner time”.

In 1975, the family moved to Northern, New Jersey, (Boonton).
In 1977, it was off to Minnetonka, Minnesota (too cold for Jeanne Claire) so, soon thereafter, to Olney, Maryland in 1980. One more move to Scituate, Mass. in 1988; before retiring to Florida, where Jeanne Claire and Ted spent 30+ wonderful years, with family, friends, and their beloved church family.

Jeanne Claire leaves behind all four children: Cindy (LeBlanc) Mills and Robert Mills of Dover, NH; Michael and Marggie LeBlanc of Columbia, MO; Teddy and Carol LeBlanc of Dowell, MD and Palm Coast, FL; and Russell LeBlanc of North Adams, Mass.

Grandchildren: Dr. Ryan and Jen Mills, of Seattle, WA; Jesse Mills of Dover, NH; and Melissa (Mills) Porter and Dan Porter, with great grandson Christopher, of Hudson, NH. Andrew LeBlanc of St. Louis,MO; Matthew and Jordan LeBlanc of Atlanta, GA.  Alex LeBlanc of Tempe, AZ; Claire LeBlanc of Cambridge, MD and Teddy LeBlanc of Annapolis, MD.
Great Grandchild, Evie Mahanes, and her parents, Mary and Kyle Mahanes of Palm Coast, FL.

Toby and Monica Joyce of Lenox Mass.; great grandchildren: Josiah, Samuel, Mabel, Hayden and Dylan. Joshua Joyce and partner, Keith Lewis, of Scituate, Mass. and Noah Joyce of Scituate, Mass.

Jeanne Claire is also survived by one sister, Gertrude (Dupree) Kennedy and Roger Kennedy, of Florida. There are also very many nieces and nephews, plus so many wonderful, dear friends, who are considered family.
